No, seriously, they're tiny. Like 100 sq ft tiny. And sure, they're environmentally friendly, but I got so claustrophobic watching the video, I had to turn it off. Now I'm getting light headed just thinking about watching it. So go ahead, you try to watch it. I dare you.
A lot of these are portable, so they'll build them and send them out to your little corner of the woods. Just don't invite me over, k? K.

(Really) Tiny Homes

I admit that the smaller Tumbleweed Houses are claustrophobic, however I take issue with the inference that all of them are too small.
Jay Shafer only has one of his larger designs on the website, the 770 s.f Enesti, a cute, 2 br, 1 1/2 ba cottage.
Not everyone needs (or wants) a McMansion.
No, I agree that some are quite livable and I think the layouts are ingenious - I definitely could have made that clearer in the post - the smaller ones are just hard for my claustrophobia to bear.
And I also don't think McMansions are a necessity. My husband & I live quite happily in a 1800 sq ft 70s tri-level. I wouldn't have it any other way :)
I LOVE this house! It's adorable. I found myself fantasizing about living in a similar space (of course with two kids and a husband that's not gonna happen). We live in an 1800 sf home now and when the kids are grown want to downsize to a cottage. Less to clean and take care of, more time to travel.
